The attending expert group of National Standard of Code for Design of Fire Protection and Prevention for Non-ferrous Metal Enterprises agrees that “the water mist fire extinguishing system has the advantages of safety, environmental protection, high efficiency, water conservation and wide application, and can substitute the fire extinguishing systems such as gas, water sprinkling and water mist. In addition, it has advanced technology, excellent equipment and compact configuration reaching internationally leading level. Therefore, combined with the features of non-ferrous metal industry, it can be applied in the power transformation and distribution system, center control room, information center, cable duct (cable interlayer), diesel equipment, hydraulic system and heavy oil depot, as well as in the area with heavy dust such as shaft and drift and storage yard to degrade dust and purify the environment.”
The National Standard of Code for Design of Fire Protection and Prevention for fossil fuel power plants and substations has definitely stated that the water mist can be applied in the cable interlayer, electro-hydraulic device (except for fire-resistant oil), hydrogen seal oil device, water supply pump oil tank(except for fire-resistant oil), steam turbine oil storage tank(in the power house), coal mill lubricating oil tank, diesel generator room and oil tank, cable tunnel as well as the diesel-driven fire pump room in the fire-pump room.
The Code for Design, Installation and Acceptance of Water Mist Fire Extinguishing System of Henan Province was formally published and implemented on Nov. 1st, 2006.
Ⅴ. Application
1. In archives, museums, ancient building, hospitals, superstores and entertainment places as well as other people-intensive sites

The water damages caused by traditional water sprinkling system sometimes even exceeds the loss of the fire. 2. In data center, telecom equipment room and high and low voltage distribution room
